Writing your first book?
We are human. When we start out to do something different from what we usually do, we can feel that we are doing so alone, that we are moving away from family and friends, colleagues and neighbours. In a way, we are. We are developing ourselves and that can be challenging for other people to see or be a part of. That's why some people may try to slow you down, or even stop you. However, the fear of separation is completely made up, in your own mind. And so, it can be managed.
You can use your imagination to create or find images of supporters, people who will cheer you on when the writing process gets tough. You can create a vision board of the people you would love to see waving to you, or hear shouting their support.
Real, but invisible Supporters
I would like to bring your attention to the hundreds of people who have written apps and computer programs designed to support you in realising your dream. You may have never met them in person, and probably never will, but they do exist. Check out the Online Course for details of the apps and programs that I have used.
There is at least one major book publisher that encourages independant writers to publish and sell their books one at the time. They do so with you in mind. not you personally, but you as an independant author. That's you isn't it? They have built a website, and publishing, printing and payment services so that you can publish your book. Think of them as your supporters too. To find out which publisher, join the Online Course (link).
Your best friends, colleagues, family members DO support you. They might not know it yet, if you haven't told them that you are going to write and publish a book. Go ahead and tell them and get written proof in the form of "Go For It" cards, create a vision board and sign people up to your Supporters Club. It might help to use the Mission Statement, which you can learn about on the Online Course.
