As I write, I wonder how big the book is going to be. Not the length and breadth of the book, but the impact it will have on how we communicate in our education system.

There has been a significant bump up in the quality of the ICF Core Skills Book. Collaborating is so much fun. And, for the sake of transparency, I have a small confession to make.
Colour says a lot. But what does it say?
I received the much-awaited text from Andrea Robson for our ICF Core Coaching Skills book. This is a piece of work I started ten years ago, which is now coming to fruition.
My task today is to 'meld' the two texts, the two writers, the two perspectives into a coherent whole. Here is the ongoing FaceBook conversation about that task. Click the [f] to read more.
This book, which is very close to being published, started as an idea in 2006, just as I was learning to be a coach, and was a member (Chapter Host) of ICF Gothenburg.
The idea was that coaching benefits teachers and students. I sought to explore that idea by examining the ICF Core Skills from a teacher's point of view.
I published the brief texts as pages on a website and invited my (tiny) network to read what I had written. About 20-25 people did so.
In an effort to attract more people I recorded an audio course closely based on the texts. It had little effect on the number of visitors to the website.
Later, I moved on to writing books. When I realised that my first book "A Coaching Approach to Education" was helping me to become known around the world, I wanted to write a second book based on the ICF website. I soon discovered that I had moved on, and was no longer 'new to coaching' as my audience would be. So I asked the Universe to "send me an experienced teacher / headteacher, who is new to coaching". And 3 days later, I received an e-mail from Andrea Robson. The rest, as they say, is history. Or it will soon will be.

The story so far:
Gran, aged 90, has been taken by her youngest daughter to an overnight party cruise aboard an airship. An airship that floats on air like a sailing ship floats on water. The whole family is there, including her son and his wife to whom she was rude many years ago. Something that Gran regrets.
Gran has received an early birthday present, a mysterious box of chocolates with the instructions to 'eat only one'.
